Thomas, Edward L., age 53, of Elkhart, TX, formerly of Tampa, FL, died Friday, April 24, 2009. A memorial service is planned for May 23, 2009, 11:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3712 El Prado Blvd., Tampa. Mr. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Lisa Milne and husband, Donabe, son, James Thomas, and former spouse, Laura Thomas Roake, all of Tampa; parents, John and Betty Thomas, and brother, Bobby Thomas, of Palestine, TX; sister, Tasha Lewallen and husband Paul of Elkhart, TX; one grandson, Jadon Milne of Tampa; and several nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Calhoun, in 2008. Mr. Thomas retired from the U. S. Postal Service following 30 years of dedicated service and was a graduate of Robinson High School in Tampa. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and, having spent his life in Tampa, a loyal Bucs fan. He spent many years at Interbay Little League where he served in capacities ranging from coach to President. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
