Sexual ambiguity and the bible?

This article popped up on popurls today, and to be honest it scares me. It got me thinking about the whole “curing gays” theme that extremist christians tend to attempt. What about those born with both male and female genitalia? A few quick searches and I came up with some interesting numbers.

According to Wikipedia, 1 percent of the human population is born with some degree of sexual ambiguity. Every hundredth person you walk by is sexually ambiguous.

That means out of 305,500,000 people living in the united states, 3,055,000 of them are sexually ambiguous. If a sexually ambiguous population lived in a single city in the US, that city would be more populous than Denver, Seattle, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, and New Orleans… combined. The only cities that would remain larger, in fact, are New York and Los Angeles.

That’s a large chunk of people who aren’t completely sold on whether they’re male or female. How do these people determine which way to live their lives? They use their brain. Whatever their mind tells them is generally how they lead their lives.

What are these people supposed to think about the bible? What does the bible tell them? (These are not rhetorical questions… please answer them…)

Keep in mind, this is just the physical genitalia. If this ratio of people is born physically not knowing whether they were meant to be male or female, how can you rule out chemical orientation causing some people to be attracted to members of the same sex? Homosexual people can’t choose to be straight any more than ambiguous people can choose the genitalia they were born with.

All of the questions I’ve posted here are real, genuine questions. Of course you know what side of the argument I’m on, but I’m interested in hearing real responses from people that believe homosexuality is a choice. Please answer anything with a question mark in this article…
